canine behaviour and dog training

Bronze Award

The Bronze Award course is the follow-on class after Puppy Foundation and also the intake class for dogs older than 20wks.
When: Friday evenings
Where: St Brelades church hall
Next course start date: TBC
Length of course: 8 weeks
For: Dogs older than 20wks
Fees: £80 (for 8 week course)

Two parts

The Bronze Award runs as two separate 8wk courses: Part One and Part Two.

Bronze Award (Part 1) works towards the APDT's Adult Beginner Award. We find this is a fun half-way step to the KC Bronze Award.

Bronze Award (Part 2) culminates in the KC Good Citizen Bronze Award assessment.

Successful dogs will receive their APDT Adult Beginner certificate at the end of Part 1 and will receive their Bronze Award certificate and rosette from the Kennel Club, at the end of Part 2.

After the Bronze Award, dogs can progress to the Silver Award (and then Gold Award).

We use clicker training in all our classes and a free clicker is provided.

I had never used the clicker before and I’m really impressed - it works brilliantly! Even if you have never needed to go to a training class before, I would highly recommend this one. The tips Jo gave were brilliant and having someone there to email with questions and receive advice and help from when needed, was of huge value. Would I recommend it, YES, without a doubt. Just wish I had heard of DogWorks earlier, then I could have joined the puppy classes first.
